A hexagon around Saturn’s north pole, glimpsed by the Voyagers in the early ’80s, is still there. The feature, near 78° north latitude, was shot by Cassini in infrared light in October 2006. The structure extends at least down to the 3-bar pressure level, some 75 kilometers below the visible cloud tops, and may be a standing wave.
