Performing Arts Series
Each season Caltech Public Events presents performing arts events
ranging from theater and music to dance and comedy in various venues
on campus; many of these events featuring world-renowned artists.
Saturdays
at 2 - Family Events
This unique performing arts series with a focus on science for
children is geared for the enjoyment of the entire family. Activities,
games, music and contests with Radio Disney will take place one
hour prior to each performance. All events are general admission.
Earnest C. Watson Lectures
Named for the late Earnest C. Watson, who founded the series in
1922, these lectures feature speakers from Caltech and JPL, presenting
cutting-edge research taking place at Caltech.
Coleman Chamber Music Concerts
Approaching its centennial, Coleman celebrates its rich history with a tradition of bringing the finest in chamber music to the community.
Leakey
Lectures
The Leakey Speaker Series on Human Origins is returning to its
roots at Caltech, host of the original lecture series in the early
1970s. Today, the Leakey Speaker Series continues its mission of
keeping audiences informed of advances and discoveries, with an
impressive roster of lecturers.
Voices of Vision
A new series of talks with some of the most creative thinkers of
our time. These innovators step outside the box, inspiring the exploration
of ideas. No tickets or reservations are required.
Lagerstrom Chamber Concerts
The free Lagerstrom Chamber Music Concerts have offered intimate programs to music lovers from Caltech and the community in the acoustically marvelous and elegant setting of Dabney Lounge for more than half a century.
Student
Group Performances
Artistic talent on the Caltech campus in showcased by a wide variety
of performing groups: Caltech-Occidental Jazz and Concerts Bands,
Caltech-Occidental Orchestra, Men's and Women's Glee Clubs, Student
Chamber Music Ensembles, and Theater Arts at Caltech.
Caltech Folk Music Society Concerts
Since 1981, the Caltech Folk Music Society has brought performers of acoustic music from around the world to perform at Caltech. The music ranges from bluegrass bands and British Isles music, to blues and Nueva Cancion.
Special Events
Special lectures, symposia, panel discussions, art exhibits, and
other events take place on campus throughout the year. Some of these
include the Michelin, DuBridge, and Lauritsen Lectures.
